UTC College Democrats Announce 2005-2006 Executive Board

CHATTANOOGA, Tenn. – The University of Tennessee at Chattanooga (UTC) College Democrats are pleased to announce the election of their 2005-2006 Executive Board. Meredith Preston, a Senior from Chattanooga was elected as President.
“I am honored and excited to have the opportunity to serve as President of the UTC College Democrats for our new year,” said Meredith Preston, incoming president. “The community will see us come out in full force in the months ahead, and part of my vision for the future of this chapter is for our presence not to falter again.”
2005-2006 UTC College Democrats Executive Board:
• Meredith Preston, President (Senior, Chattanooga)
• Margaret Franklin, Vice President (Sophomore, Memphis)
• David Elliott, Director of Operations (Sophomore, Lawrenceburg)
• Adam Green, Director of Communications (Junior, McMinnville)
Three of the chapter’s officers are currently serving as officers of the Tennessee Federation of College Democrats and one serving as an officer of the local Hamilton County Young Democrats. With this experienced leadership, the UTC College Democrats are in a perfect position to build our membership in preparation for the campaign efforts that are just around the corner and to help foster cooperation among Democrats throughout the area and across the state. This week the new officers will be meeting to discuss specific goals and ideas for this year.
“I am pleased with the UTC College Democrats' commitment to understanding and helping resolve the issues of today,” said Dr. Bob Swansbrough, faculty advisor to the UTC College Democrats. “Meredith Preston will continue to lead the College Democrats to an even greater involvement in campus, community and national activities.”
